Application Information
The APS/NIDDK Minority Travel Fellowship Awards are open to graduate students, postdoctoral students, and advanced undergraduate students. Students who obtained their undergraduate education in Minority Biomedical Research Programs (MBRS) or Minority Access to Research Career (MARC)-eligible institutions, as well as students in the APS Porter Development Program, are encouraged to apply. Minority faculty members at the above institutions may also submit applications. Funds will provide transportation, meals, and lodging. A separate application must be submitted for each applicant; incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

The APS requests information from program participants concerning racial and/or ethnic group for use in program evaluation and reports on federal and private grants. Information on individual participants is not reported associated with participants' names, only in the aggregate (e.g., "20% of program participants were Native American."). The APS does not release information concerning individual participants' racial and/or ethnic groups, address, or email without their permission. Lists of awardees and their institutions are published in APS publications (e.g., "The Physiologist") and at the APS website.

The following definitions for ethnic and racial categories come from the "NIH Policy and Guidelines on the Inclusion of Women and Minorities as Subjects in Clinical Research-Amended, October 2001" which can also be found at the following URL:
