Abstract-based Trainee Awards for Postdoctoral and Graduate Students

To encourage the participation of young scientists in training, awards will be granted to trainees for best abstract submission. The awards will consist of a cash prize and certificate.

Award applicants will be judged prior to and during the conference. Winners will be announced during one of the conference’s sessions, where they will receive a certificate from the conference organizers.

Criteria and Important Award Application Instructions

To be considered for an award the candidate must:

  • be a student or postdoctoral fellow within five years of receiving their postdoctoral degree,
  • be the first author on the abstract,
  • submit an abstract for the conference via the online abstract submission site,
  • designate during the abstract submission process that you would like to be considered for the Abstract-based Trainee Award (if eligible), and
  • apply and complete the award application on the APS Awards webpage by following the link that will be provided in the submission site after your submission fee has been paid and the abstract submission has been finalized.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed.
